Hanging Pots for Pothos
If you have limited floor or shelf space, hanging Baskets or Pots are absolute favourite ways to display your Pothos.
Versatile containers allow the plants long trailing vines to drop down beautifully, creating an incredible visual effect.
A step-by-step guide to setting up a hanging pot
Choose the right pot:
Choose a pot that provides adequate drainage. Wicker, wire or plastic baskets or pots with drainage holes are all good choices. If your basket does not have drainage holes, you can place it in a plastic container.
Prepare the Pot:
If you are using a wire pot, line it with sphagnum moss or coconut coir to hold the soil. However, for other pots, make sure there is a saucer to catch the extra water.
Choose the right soil:
Use a well-drained potting mix to prevent root rot. Mixture of perlite or sand can be used to facilitate drainage.
Plant your Pothos:
Slowly remove the Pothos from its current pot and loosen the roots. Place it in a basket or pot, filling around the roots with more potting mix. Gently press the soil around to secure the plant.
Watering:
Water well until water starts to seep out from the bottom. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to mimic the plants natural environment. To know further about watering and Pothos care read my other blog post.

Hang your pot where the pothos will receive bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, as it can result in scorching of the leaves. A ceiling hook or wall bracket can provide a sturdy hanging spot.
